The Alba County Folk Music Ensemble is part of the “Augustin Bena “ Cultural Center Alba, a cultural institution overseen and lead by the Alba County Council. The Ensemble had its debut on the 9th of May 2008 and his goals are the conservation, enrichment and promotion of Romania’ s Cultural Heritage, both material and immaterial.

 During its yearly concert season, the Ensemble, is involved in over 50 cultural events, such as giving numerous concerts, participating in National and International Music Festivals, Competitions and Master-classes and also takes  part in Traditional Folk Celebrations and Events.

The Alba County Folk MusicEnsemble is comprised of :

·        A  professional traditional folk music orchestra

·        A professional  traditional dance group

·        Vocal and instrumental soloists

The vocal soloists of the Folk Music Ensemble are: Roxana Reche , Catalin Ha?a, Maria Filimon, Dorina Nari?a, Floricica Moga and Nicolae Tuhu?. They all are part of the elite of the new generation of folk singers in our country, having won numerous prizes in the top Romanian and International Folk Music Competitions and Festival

The members of the orchestra are young professionals with diverse music backgrounds ( they graduates of Music High Schools, Universities And Academies  from Romania  and abroad: Bucharest , Alba , Cluj , Baia – Mare , London , The Republic of Moldova)

The Ensemble is conducted and lead by Alexandru Pal – graduated Bachelor of Music from the National Music Academy in Bucharest, specializing in music interpretation under the instruction of Prof. Dr. Gheorghe Zamfir Prep. And Univ. Dr. Dalila Cernatescu.

The Orchestral Repertoire contains suites of folkloric music from all Romania’s Ethno -Folkloric zones, and the dance group’s repertoire includes dances like: Ariesul, Crihalma, Somes, Banat, Mures, Codru , Oas , Calus.
