ANNOTATION

 

 

“GRAOVO” Bulgarian Folklore Ensemble was founded in the town of Pernik in 1953 by a group of enthusiasts. The name of the ensemble comes from the ethnical region in which Pernik is situated.

Through the years the troupe has developed its own distinctive repertoire, gradually including songs and dances from all of the Bulgaria’s ethnical regions.

By the excellent technical mastery, the national magnificent and colourful costumes and unique Bulgarian songs and music the ensemble gains popularity.

“GRAOVO” has been led and directed by the choreographer Alexander Netsov for 21 years.

The ensemble has toured throughout Bulgaria and many foreign countries and iswidely acclaimed and followed by great admiration.

 

“GRAOVO” Folklore Ensemble is awarded with State insignia of honour

           The Order of “Kiril and Metody” IInd class

           Honorary Diploma by the Ministry of Culture
